Most people complain that they work too much, they watch after others for too long, and don't have enough free time for themselves. On the other hand, some people admit that they lose countless hours in front of the TV or doing nothing except eating and sleeping. Don't get us wrong, sometimes it's perfectly OK just to relax after a hard day at work, but if it happens too often, it will become boring, and you might have the sensation that you are wasting your life.
Both categories we mentioned above have something in common: they don't use their free time creatively. You might think that it's hard to concentrate and do something creative after work when you are already tired from 8 or more hours of professional activities. However, doing something that involves the brain, talent and skills works the other way. Almost miraculously, it helps you regain your energy and the feeling that you've done something productive that day.
But what does
spending your free time creatively mean? To answer this question, we must look at the word "creative". It derives from the verb "to create", which means to make something appear, to bring something into existence. It's just as simple as that! If you want to feel proud and accomplished, you must create something, not just consume something that others created. Once you understand this, possibilities are endless, as we will show below.
Another important thing we must mention is that you shouldn't necessarily create something that adds value to the world. Not even something YOU consider great once it's done! The truly important thing is the process - you know they say the chase is better than the catch. So, you should just put your mind to it and find out what you would like to try. For example, it could be something as simple as a puzzle, sudoku, or a crossword puzzle.
However, if you truly want to feel creative, you should write, draw, paint, or sing, if you are attracted to these activities. For example, you can start a journal right now, writing a bit about your everyday experiences as a webcam model or in your personal life. This will help you come in touch with your inner emotions and become a better person since you realize whether you made any mistakes during that certain day or not.
On the other hand, if you are sad, melancholic, or just feel down, you should start drawing, painting, or even sketching something. They say an image is worth a thousand words, and pouring your soul into art will help you understand exactly how you are feeling. Last but not least, singing can also improve your mood, whether we are talking about karaoke, singing in the shower, or something more professional.
Finally, we should mention one last thing. Reading is one of the favorite pastimes and, if you enjoy it, you should make it creative by taking down notes of your favorite quotes or actions from the book. Enjoy!
